Delegations
Relations with third countries are crucial for the European Parliament. Its delegations are maintaining regular contact with the national parliaments of countries outside the EU. The interparliamentary delegations are playing a very important role in spreading the influence of the EU through cooperation, but first of all they are defending and promoting the main principles of the EU, like freedom, democracy, respect of human rights and the rule of law.
From the 36 interparliamentary delegations of the EP, I am member of the Delegation to the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. This delegation of MEPs is in fact working in the frame of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. Moreover, I am working in two other delegations as a substitute: the Delegation to the EU-Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee and the Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
